Have you ever wondered why that OTHER guy at the gig or open-mic somehow always wins the audience?
Why not YOU?
Here’s what we tell ourselves:
“…well, let’s see… I could always practice more of course… and work on my singing voice…. and, I could work out some cool things to say to the crowd between songs… Maybe my song selection just isn’t right… not enough hooks… that damn 3rd verse needs work… It just wasn’t my crowd… I guess I just somehow didn’t give it my ALL… Some people have charisma, and some DON’T… right?”
WRONG!
Let’s look a little closer…
Is it the guy who plays the best guitar that wins the audience? Not always.
Is it the gal with the prettiest voice? Not necessarily…
Why is that?
Well, maybe it’s not so much what you play that makes the difference, but how you are on stage that makes more fans.

You see, the audience wants what you want. You don’t want to be self-conscious on stage, and the people don’t want you to be that way either!
The cool thing is… guess what? You don’t have to be self-conscious on stage. You can defeat it. It takes a little work, but anyone can get there.
Action Step
Like in the video, the first step to getting on top of this is just to notice what’s really going on. So, what I suggest you do, is go to an open mic WITHOUT your guitar(!) and answer the following question:
Which artist did you like best?
…Was it the one with the best chops?
Well, sometimes it is… But not necessarily!!
